The Red Chairs

The Red Chairs

In London there is a culture of placing unwanted items outside your front door so passing residents can take them, modern day recycling. And once in a while you come across a really nice find.

Today while walking home I found a set of four red wooden chairs. I whipped them under the arms and headed to the allotment. They look great inside the shed and will come in handy when entertaining.

Shed. June 2018.

Things are starting to fall into place inside the shed as well. Tools have their own home and I’ve moved the stove and kettle back in. There are shelves and glass jars of seeds. Now I must turn my attention to the soil.

June 2018: Seeds in glass jars always look beautiful.

  • What a great find Sean, good things happen to good people (at least that’s the theory…). I have in my shed an almost identical, single vintage chair and I love it because I can fold it out of the way when I’m not using it. I also loved the seed photo, I have access to old glassware and stoppers so may do the same, had never thought about using them that way.

  • Really nice chairs. They’ve found a good home. The glass jars are nice too. I use small canning jars to store seeds at times. Are those old apothecary jars? So good to see everything coming together at the railway garden shed.
