How to Grow Spinach

Sow April, May, June, August, September
Harvest January, February, March, July, August, September, October, November, December

SOW OUTDOORS April and June and August/September, thinly 1/2in (1cm) deep in rows 12in (30cm) apart, direct in harvest position. Keep soil moist at all times.

If necessary thin seedlings to 6in (15cm) apart.

Leaf beet is far more productive than true spinach and is a hardier crop. Pick leaves regularly to ensure continuous supply. Late sowings can be harvested in autumn or overwintered for cropping early spring.
