How to Blanch and Freeze Peas

The harvest of the peas has began so it’s into the kitchen to blanch and freeze the pea harvest. Keep the pods and you can make Pea Pod Soup, see the video at

1. Boil a saucepan of water
2. Gently place of peas into the saucepan and turn the heat down to a gentle simmer for 60 seconds
3. Remove from the heat and sieve the peas then put into cold water
4. After 60 seconds place on a tray and cover with a clean tea towel to soak up the water
5. Place into bags or container, cover and place in the freezer; use within a year
